Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Concert

Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Concert
Variety concert at 2pm on Sunday June 2nd at the C.C.S.A. Hall Nutley St., Caloundra, showcasing 2 instrumental groups. A Celtic band will play the Irish fiddle /guitar /ukulele/etc and also sing rollicking songs. This is virtually a re-forming of the “Kilkenny” group which performed nationally and internationally in the 1980s and 90s as one of Australia’s top Celtic groups.
Leader, Carmel Newman, won the Instrumentalist of the Year at the 2016 Australian Celtic Music Awards, and is currently the fiddle player for the Irish band Mooncoin who play at O’Malley’s every fortnight.

The second group, the Ghekko Broth-ers, will play toe-tapping popular tunes.

Other artists include: Organiser Bev Gourlay singing solos and also duets with baritone Aart Schouten. Modern singer Robyn Streiner and crooner Trevor Mitchell.
